We’re in the midst of the heatwaves of summer and also, the beginning of harvest season for some of our favorite crops. In my case that means sweet sun-ripened tomatoes and all that goes into bringing them to fruition! For the past month or two, I’ve been fertilizing, weeding, watering, pruning – and no matter how much you love the end result, getting there can only be described as “WORK”. At the end of each session, I can feel the effect in my muscles and joints from all the bending, lifting, pulling etc.
Generally, I try to ignore the stiffness and go on about my day, however it’s usually very clear by early the next morning just how sore I really am! I hurt from my neck down my arms to my hands. I also feel it in my lower back and hamstrings. What’s a person to do when they feel like they can barely get going? That’s when I enjoy my favorite topical remedy along with my morning coffee!
My first step is to apply a light touch of Sweet Releaf Comfort Plus to my muscles that hurt the most. I just let that soak in for a few minutes which usually helps them loosen up. Then I give those muscles a good massage – maybe 5 to 10 minutes on the ones that hurt most, re-applying Sweet Releaf as needed. I’ll wait another 10 to 15 minutes while enjoying coffee and catching up on the news, after which, I always feel quite a bit better. My last step is to wipe any residual cream off with a napkin, then start making breakfast and getting on with my day, feeling much more relaxed and rejuvenated!
I share this routine because you may find it helpful in getting your day started, whether your stiffness is from gardening, or sitting too much while driving, or exerting yourself while working out – the reasons are many, but the remedy is often just a jar’s reach away! Wishing you a Sweet Summer and a bountiful harvest!
