Our aching aging bodies!
One thing is for sure, our bodies change as we age, especially the parts that get lots of wear and tear over a lifetime: knees, hips, back, arms and neck. All the places with joints and their connecting tendons and muscles. We tend to exercise some of those parts less the older we get, so they get out of shape which makes them ache a lot more when we suddenly use them again!
I’m speaking of my own experience here. Some years back, I had a hip replacement. I did a lot of physical therapy afterwards which really strengthened the muscles that connect the hip joint to the lower back. But I got lazy and stopped doing the exercises, opting instead to sit and read a good book in the mornings, not paying much attention to my posture. It caught up with me yesterday as I was busy packing for a trip. Suddenly my back started hurting which made my steps unsteady, causing me to limp. Within an hour, it hurt so much I felt I couldn’t get around without a cane!
My husband reminded me to apply some Sweet Releaf Comfort+ which I quickly did. Then I took some aspirin and laid down to rest for a while to let it all soak in. As usual, I felt the welcome warmth that eases muscle tension first. That helped my body relax enough so I could straighten out my legs and stretch my back and spine into a more comfortable position. Later, I found myself walking to the next room before realizing that the sharp ache in my lower back was gone – replaced by a definite tenderness that reminded me to take it easy for the rest of the night.
How grateful I am to have a remedy at hand that just might be the solution to my aging body’s needs! The wonder of this topical is that you can reach for it when you’re not sure what to do next and it will very likely improve the situation simply by loosening up muscle tension and encouraging you to relax.
Love, Didi
